Frequently asked questions.

SAN’s process is simple:

  • Step 1: Purchase one of our design packages that will suit your space.
  • Step 2: Complete our Space Assessment Checklist, upload photos, walk-around videos, site survey map, and any inspirational design images from online like Pinterest.com.
  • Step 3: We will create a base map based on the information you provided and send it to you for your review.
  • Step 4: Review and approve the basemap to make sure all the locations of existing site elements and the measurements are correct.
  • Step 5: Share your vision and design preferences with a designer, so we can get you precisely what you’re looking for.
  • Step 6: We will create a design draft based on all your submitted information and our online discussion, and then we will send it to you for your review.
  • Step 7: Review and approve the design draft to make sure all the requested site elements are included.
  • Step 8: Upon your approval on the design draft, we will send the design to your email and SAN dashboard.

You should receive your design in 3-4 weeks from the approval of your base map. This doesn’t include your time for the review and approval for the design draft. It may take a little longer during our busiest season.

Landscape design plans come with one free revision. You can request additional revisions for a fee based on the changes you’d like to make.

SANLAND focuses on designing spaces that are less than two acres for all online services. However, you can call us if your property is more than two acres. We’re a group of landscape designers and architects who have expertise in large-scale projects as well, and we’ll be happy to help you!

Absolutely! We can work with any size budget, and if you don’t know your budget, we can help you figure one out along the way.
No two designs are alike because they’re tailored directly to your needs and available space.
Please visit our Design Packages page for more details.
We provide a concept of landscape design ideas only. We do not offer drawings with hardscape specifications, stamped documents, drainage and grading plans, irrigation plans, or HOA and local code compliance. However, we have licensed architects on our team, so we can offer separate consulting services for related issues.
You can hire contractors to make your landscape concept a reality, or you can get your hands dirty and enjoy some DIY.
We strive to choose native plants that should be readily available. If you can’t find what we recommend, talk to a local plant nursery for alternative options. Or, you can contact us, and we’ll connect you with one of our virtual gardeners to discuss similar cultivars of the same species or different plants with similar requirements.
Yes, we can. SANLAND works with landscape contractors in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. We can help you find a contractor after the design phase is completed. Please contact us for more information.
We provide a concept of landscape design ideas only, not for construction or installation. A contractor should verify all the measurements included in the design, such as height and levels, before proceeding with construction. Any photos, images, or representations included with your design are intended as reference only and do not serve as instructions.
